Fundraise for Kernow Conservation

Turn your challenge into real help for Cornwall’s wildlife.
Whether you’re running a half marathon, tackling the South West Coast Path, doing a cold-water dip, hosting a quiz night, or giving up something for a month - you can raise funds for practical, on-the-ground conservation in Cornwall.

Our Crowdfunder campaigns use Forever Funding. That means:

  • People can still donate to our active projects even after the original campaign ends

  • Supporters can also create their own fundraiser page linked to one of those projects

  • Your fundraising total goes towards the same conservation work - and you can share your page with friends, family, colleagues, and local community groups

Why fundraise - where your money goes

Funds raised through our Forever Funding projects help us deliver practical conservation work such as:

  • habitat restoration and long-term management

  • monitoring and survey work

  • equipment and materials for fieldwork and volunteer days

  • community engagement - getting more people involved in protecting wildlife

How to set up a fundraiser

Set up your own fundraiser in 5 steps

  1. Choose a project to fundraise for from Water voles - Ospreys - Beavers - Pine martens (you will need to set up a Crowdfunder account if you don’t already have one)

  2. Add a title, photo, and a few lines about what you’re doing and why

  3. Pick a target and set an end date

  4. Share your link with your friends, family and on social media - and keep people updated as you go

Fundraising ideas

Need inspiration? Here are some ideas that work really well:

  • Half marathons, 10Ks, triathlons, obstacle races

  • Coast path runs or long-distance hikes

  • Sponsored swim, surf, or paddle challenge

  • Cycle challenges (coast-to-coast, 100 miles, or commuting for a month)

  • Birthday fundraisers

  • Bake sales, community coffee mornings, pub quizzes

  • School or workplace challenges (steps challenges, dress-down days, matched giving)

Simple tips that make a big difference

  • Tell people exactly what you’re doing and when

  • Say why you chose Kernow Conservation - make it personal

  • Post updates as you train / prepare (photos help)

  • Ask your workplace about matched fundraising

  • Share more than once - most donations come after reminders

If you set up a fundraiser, we can help with:

  • Social media shout-outs (tag us so we see it)

  • A short description of the project you’re supporting

  • Images or a simple logo pack for your page (if you want one)

  • Contact us here to let us know your plans

Why core funding matters

Core funding makes everything else possible. It helps us:

  • Maintain momentum between project grants

  • Plan and deliver work reliably with landowners and partners

  • Act quickly when opportunities arise (or when urgent issues appear)

  • Keep sharing practical, positive conservation stories from Cornwall

Other ways to help

If you’d rather support a specific appeal or project, you can also donate via our project pages. General donations are for the behind-the-scenes costs that keep Kernow Conservation active and effective.
